A Mothers Love For Her Child

They say that a mothers love for her child is absolute like that of Mrs. Aguilar Pollards love for her son Jason who was brought to justice this Monday morning by the NBI at the basement of their residence at Q.C. This has been in the news ever since. Unfortunately for me I was in front of the TV when all these happened.

The news showed how shots were fired between Jason and the NBI raiding team. The action ended with Jason and two other operatives being shot.

Jason's mom, Marlene Aguilar-Pollard repeatedly said that she had no idea that her son was down there. Her house being over a thousand square meters in area as her excuse. My parents showed me their love by always asking me of my whereabouts though most of the time I get so irritated. I know it's their gesture of letting me know they care.
Justify Full
I also saw how half of the reward money was awarded to the confidential informant by Usec Ebarle on the news. I just thought that this was so unnecessary for the Informants safety.

Just this morning at a live interview with the controversial mother over Unang Hirit. What she said was just disturbing. It made no sense, contradicting the image she first projected as an unconditional mother. It looked like it was now clear to her that the masked informant was her British bodyguard who went missing 3 weeks ago. She is now on suspicion that her son was set up and is being pinned for the murder of Ebarle Jr. Adding that Mark, her bodyguard has access to both the gun (the pistol that was positively matched as the murder weapon) and the Honda CRV.

When asked by Igan if she didn't suspect the bodyguard at the time of the murder she said no. To me, it seemed likes he already knew and accepted that Jason did it basing from her previous interviews. The question now is. How could a loving and caring mother suspect her son for murder over her body guard?! She also mentioned that her bodyguard deposited $5,000 to her Metrobank Account. Whatever that means.

He never intended to kill or hurt anyone! This was her response when asked what she and Jason talked about on her last visit to the hospital. This is CRAP! On the video shown on air, Jason was wearing a tactical vest and has 2 guns with him that he obviously wasn't shy to use. Now she's crying that Jason never really intended to hurt anyone? Another Crap.

She is now seeking help from the US and will appeal to the CHR. I say do what ever it is you have to do just don't play us for fools. I agree with what Usec. Ebarle when he said that all these is starting to look like a tele novela and the best actress award should be given to the mother.

Campaign Jingles and Political Ads

The Philippine Election Setting won't be complete without these very powerful tools used for campaign. These political ads and campaign jingles either give us a glimpse of the candidates platform or their advocacy.

Gilbert Teodoros Political Ad is still controversial due to the appeal of Rico Blanco regarding rights issues.

SULONG

Posible

How about Senator Noynoy Aquinos star studded "Di ka nag iisa" video. This video has showcased talents from the two major competing television networks in the country. I believe this is all possible because of Sen. Noynoys sister, Kris.

DI NA NAG IISA

Kapag ako'y nag-iisa
Mayro'ng gumugulo
Sa aking isipan
Alam kong tayo'y nagmamahalan
Ngunit bakit ganito
Di maipaliwanag

Hawakan mong aking mga kamay
Bigyan ng kulay ang aking buhay

Mahal ayoko pang lumisan
Dito lamang ako
Dito sa tabi mo
Ngunit kailangan kong gawin 'to
Di dahil nais ko
Sana'y unawain mo

Hawakan mong aking mga kamay
Bigyan ng kulay ang aking buhay
At wag kang bibitaw
Huwag kang hihiwalay
Ika'y aking lakas
Pagibig na ito'y sadyang wagas

Ano kaya itong pagsubok na dapat kong dalhin
At dapat kong tanggapin

Mahal sa'king paglalakbay
Ako'y nalulumbay
Kailangan bang mawalay

Hawakan mong aking mga kamay
Bigyan ng kulay ang aking buhay
Habang pasan ko ang daigdig
Pagibig mo'y nananaig
At balang araw tayong dalawa'y
Magsasama

(di na mag-iisa)
(di na mag-iisa)

Ika'y kapiling na
Di na nag-iisa

Di na nag-iisa

But if there's one candidate that has shown his persistency on this area, it is Senator Manuel Villar. His ads (allegedly paid for by his friends) has been airing for the longest time now. Even before the start of the campaign period. He's the one candidate who has the most variety of infomercials/political ads on air. Catchy tunes and attractive lyrics. The kids are singing it. Even I sometimes find myself humming to the tune of some of these ads. I applaud Senator Villars team for all these.

Naging Mahirap

At kanyang plano'y magka-bahay tayo?

Si Villar ang tunay na mahirap.
si Villar ang tunay na may malasakit.
Si Villar ang may kakayahan
At gumawa ng sariling pangalan.

Si Manny Villar ang magtatapos
ng ating kahirapan.

But just like what I've said. Each of these candidates has their own respective creative teams that work double time and are paid a great sum to make all these campaign wonders possible. Therefore I believe that these campaign ads and jingles should not bear any bearing at all, no matter how brilliant and creative they may appear, aside from the fact that it shows the candidates willingness to run for office and that's it.

I believe that a part of the idea of "Bagong Pulitika" is that we try to see pass these superficial information that is being fed to us by these men. I'm not saying that all these are lies but try and notice how some candidates try so hard to give us the idea that they came from a poor stature even if they did not. I don't know about you guys but if I'm on a job interview. I probably wont tell my interviewer that smoking is my favorite stress reliever and that I tend to slack off a lot if no one else is looking. I don't know why but logic tells us that it doesn't follow that only someone who was once poor will and can lead this country out of poverty. Prophecy of that sort does not exist in any folk lore book in the Philippines.

A Day at Paranaque Doctors Hospital

Have you ever been in a crappy hotel suite? Where the facilities and services sucked big time and you felt like you've wasted a good amount of time and money because of it. It's just like that here at Paranaque Doctors Hospital at Dona Soledad Paranaque. Good thing that you're actually paying to be treated by the doctors and not the accommodation alone.

This morning was good if not for my nephew being rushed here due to some infection that caused severe vomiting. This has been a good choice since it is a fairly new hospital compared to the other one along Sucat road and it's only a tryk ride away but it seemed like this hospital has been here since the beginning of time. A seven story Hospital with two(thanks for the correction) high speeds elevators (I wish) servicing each floor. So you can imagine how long you have to wait along with patients in wheel chairs and gourneys. Poorly designed and even rubishly managed.

Plus the nurses at the stations are always busy not with their patients but with their stories. Amusing each other while my nephews IV is starting to bleed. I could only guess what could be more interesting than doing your job that pays your bills. They're warm and pleasant though, I have to give them that. But the rest really sucked.

There's no sadder feeling for a parent seeing his child suffer from disease but imagine how grandparents feel seeing their daughters child in agony cause of his health. Isn't this feeling bad enough for such aggrevation?

If I have to put it in the words that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson used to say. I got seven words for these people "Know your role and shut your mouth!"

Update:

My nephew was scheduled for a CBC test this afternoon(4PM) but since he just slept (he was awake the whole night) when the tech arrived. We asked her to just come back around 4:30. She said it was fine. Gabo woke up around 5PM a male tech took his blood sample. The tech was polite and all. He seemed very confident on what he's doing. Just like that It was over but gabo crying is totally inevitable. Around 7PM another tech (this time a female)came in. Verified the name of the patient and then said that she was again gong to take some blood sample for the CBC. What?! If I was the patient it was probably fine but Gabo is only a 10 month old baby for god sake. How much blood do you need? She was already prepping Gabos arm and looking for the vein where to pop the needle when we objected. Then she said it was for Sodium and Potassium churva. What?! Clueless as we are about these procedure we just watched as she drew another tube of blood from our poor boy.

Spams

I have been receiving a lot of these emails lately. Even on the new ym account that I just made.

Hello,
I know this may come as a surprise to you but kindly take your time to read my proposal. My name is Stephane Pyros. I am a captain with the United Nations troop in Iraq,on war against terrorism.Based on the United States legislative and executive decision for withdrawing troops from Iraq come this year,i have been deployed to come and work in your country's military base soonest and that is why i contacted you.

Our mission is to help beef up terrorist targeted states, mostly the United states and the European Union on the war against terrorism. On the other hand i want to inform you that I have in my possession the sum of 5.6million USD. which was recovered from one of our raids on terrorists here in Iraq because they keep most of their money at home for evil activities which they normally get through illegal deals on crude oil.

Based on the suffering we undergo here some of us do meet such luck.It happened that i went for this raid with the men in my unit and i decided to take it as my share for my stress here in this evil land filled with suicide bombers.I deposited this money with a red cross agent informing him that we are making contact for the real owner of the money. It is under my power to approve whoever comes forth for this money.Where i have a problem is how to invest this money in your country on stocks and real estate.I cannot move this money to the United states because i will be in your country for about 3years and will want to invest it there with my wife who will be relocating with me,so i need someone i could trust..

If you accept,i will transfer the money to you in your country where you will be the beneficiary because i am a uniformed person and i cannot be parading such an amount so i need to present someone as the beneficiary.I am an American and an intelligence officer for that so i have a 100% authentic means of transferring the money through diplomatic courier service .I just need your acceptance and all is done. Please if you are interested in this transaction i will give to you the complete details you need for us to carry out this transaction successfully.I decided to find someone that is real and not imaginary and that is why i summoned courage to contact you

I believe i can trust you. where we are now we can only communicate through our military communication facilities which is secured so nobody can monitor our discussions, then i can explain in details to you.I will also reach you through email, just to ascertain proper communication and understanding,I just have to be sure whom i am dealing with.

If you are interested please send me your personal home address in your country and your mobile number so i can call you for further inquiries when i am out of our military network.I am writing from a fresh email account so if you are not interested do not reply to this email and please delete this message,if no response after 3days i will then search for someone else.

I am doing this on trust, you should understand and you should know that as a trained military expert i will always play safe in case you are the bad type, but i pray you are not, 5.6million USD is a lot of money which is the dream of anyone.

I wait for your contact details so we can go on.In less than 7days the money should have been delivered to you and i will come over for my money.I will give to you 30% of the sum and 70% is for me.I hope i am been fair on this deal. You can reach me on my email which is stephane_pyros02@yahoo.com
Regards,
Capt.Stephane

Captain Stephane Pyros

Here's another one.

Good day!
I am Mr. Salam Sudu director auditing and accounting department" bank of Africa (boa) Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso .I discovered the sum of seven million, two hundred thousand dollars (usd7.2) belonging to a deceased customer of this bank the fund has been lying in a suspense account without anybody coming to put claim over the money since the account owner late, Mr Salla khat from Lebanese who was involved in the December 28th 2006 Benin car crash.

it is therefore, upon this discovery that i decided to take this ultimatum and make this business proposal to you as the fund will be release to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and i don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill the banking rules here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after five years, the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the deceased customer was a foreigner and a Burkina be cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner.

Therefore, I am soliciting for your assistance to come forward as the next of kin. I have agreed that 40% of this money will be for you as the beneficiary respect of the provision of your account and service rendered, 60% will be for me. Then immediately the money transferred to your account from this bank, I will proceed to your country for the sharing of the fund.

Happy New Year

Yours faithful,
Mr.Salam Sudu

It's alarming and annoying at the same time that people actually waste time thinking of creative
plot to phish for your information. Like you winning on a random lottery or you have been
awarded a grant, etc. Yet people still fall prey to these men. Why else would they continue
to do it if they get completely nothing out of it. "Another one bites the dust?" Why? because the
figures involved are huge. Tempting right? Talk about early retirement.

But for those of us who can smell the stink of these mails from a mile away, what should we do
next? Cause it definitely doesn't end by just pressing the delete button and moving on to the
next mail (completely ignoring it)? Or is there a specific agency to which we can actually report
these incidents to?

Or the better question is, is it actually worth the time and trouble?

Farewell Singapore

My feet brought me to you and tomorrow both of them and me will return home. They say that all good things must come to an end. Just like the sun needs to set to give way to another tomorrow. For the time that I was here with you I came to to marvel at how impressive being with you is. The beautiful places, the warm faces and most of all my family that I will again leave behind. Singapore you were great.
If only my homeland was as orderly as you are. I probably won't fill a hint of anxiety right now. But again, if only. Good to know you, good bye for now. I'll see you again soon and I hope by then we can spend more time together and by that I mean so I can again see you as I just did. I don't want you to own me like you did to a lot of my kababayan. I don't want to lose this perspective of how beautiful you are. I'll look forward to our next chapter together.

Mega Mac @ Mc Donalds for Lunch

I know. Why waste time eating at Mcdonalds while in Singapore when we have that at home. For the simple reason that we don't have Mega Mac at our McDonalds in the Philippines. Wouldn't wanna miss this one. Its almost the same as our Big Mac but this one has four layers of burger patties in it. It's not the biggest burger here but like I've said it's worth trying. $7.85 For the Mega Mac meal plus $1.00 for the upsized fries and drinks. Yummmmm!

Roti Prata

Breakfast of Champions. Im not really sure what this stuff is made of but I'm sure about two things though. First, is that you don't wanna see how this is made in the market cause you won't be able to eat it well. Second is that with only two of this will definitely get you started for the day. This is quite heavy for breakfast. Also comes in several variety. The plain one usually cost $0.60 but if you want it with egg it'll be a dollar. The sauce looked like "kare-kare" sauce, adding a little flavor to it.

Seoul Garden

Seoul Garden was a haven for us today. A branch located at the 2nd level of Bugis Junction. We helped ourselves with an all you can eat dinner "shabu-shabu" style. Rates varies during the week days and week ends but it doesn't matter it's all worth it. This is a place for the gluttons in all of us.

What's in it for the Rooster this Year?

I was walking Vivo city the other day and I saw this posted on a wall post. It got me thinking. I've never been a fan of horoscopes and stuff, primarily because I was sent and raised in a catholic school. I can still remember that a nun told us that God curses those who read from the stars. Being a god-fearing school boy that I was. I stayed away from all that. But now that my views on these things have matured. That there's actually no harm on consulting with the stars. It gives us hope and something to look forward to for the coming year.

It's nothing like fortune telling at all. If we Filipinos believe in a lot of superstitons how different is astrology and Feng Sui of the Chinese? If the stars tell tell me that 2010 is my year to shine how will it stop me from shining for the years to come. Besides, it is me who walk the earth while the stars are millions of miles away. Let the stars be our guide like that on the bible.

Syn Tax Sux

Vices such as smoking is not actually encouraged here in Singapore, especially for tourists. Though smoking itself is allowed on smoking areas. If our Philippine law-makers are still debating on whether to impose syn taxes on all commodities like cigarettes and liquors, here in Singapore they've already implemented it. It was a shock to me too. Good thing I bought a couple of packs with me but it wasn't enough. So yesterday as much as I regret it. I bought one pack that caused me about 350 pesos. If only smoking isn't such a hard habit to break. I just can't go cold turkey all of a sudden. So I gave in. Alcoholic beverages are also included. Sigh.Prices range from $3.60 to $11.50 per bottle depending on the brand, size and where you are. While a pack of cig will probably cost you between $8.50 to $12.00.
Come to think of it, "Sa Pilipinas mahal ang gamot pero mura ang bisyo." While here, it's the other way around. Kinda shitty isn't it? Even though the cheaper medicines bill has already been in effect for sometime now. My dad bought his medicines here with a prescription of course from a local doctor. A brand for his hypertension cost him Php 3,+++ considering the fact that that amount wasn't discounted yet. If the same brand was to bought at home it will probably cost him around Php 12,+++ and I'm not even exagerating. Sux right?

But going back, if you are planning to visit singapore and you aren't ready to leave your vices behind, it's always best to be prepared.

Popiah

This is Singapores counterpart to our Filipino Lumpiang Ubod or Hilaw. It has a lot of similarities to taste but over all if you are craving for a traditional Filipino food. You can always trick your mind with this for only $1.20. Popiah can be served with or without chilli. Unlike our Lumpia popiahs sause is already prepared within.

Gabs and Mitch

"Love at its Best"
It was a very long, steep and high climb up the sky rider, though you know you can't stand the height and there's no turning back once you're up there, yet you give in to your wife's plea just to see a smile on her face. It would have been a very different ending if I was on my brother-in-laws shoes. It would have started and ended with just this. " Baby, I love you! You know that don't you? I love you, I really do but that's a NO!"

Sentosa, Sg

Your trip to the Lion City won't be complete with out you checkin out Sentosa Island. To me it actually looked like EK in an island setting. There are three main ways that I know of that you can get to Sentosa. You can ride a bus, a train or through cable car. Both the train and the bus will cost you $3 per head. Cheap enough huh? Once inside, trams will be your primary means of transport from one beach to another. There are also worth while activities that both kids and adults would love.

After a few hours on the beach, my skin already half burnt and I'm not even wet yet. We decided to hit it and move on to the next one. There were I think 3 beaches in Sentosa. I were just at our first and it's almost sunset. We walked the shoreline and stopping time to time to peak on what's inside each structure.

There's this sky ride and luge that my sister was very eager to ride but since it involves being lifted above the ground I passed. Riding the Flyer is more than enough for my entire stay here at Sg. Heights really scare me. It's like my Kryptonite. So after a few minutes she was able to persuade her hubby. It was the two of them who really experienced these rides first hand. According to them, they were clueless how they survived their ascend. But the fun part was the driving downhill part. If only there was another way up other than the sky ride, I'd surely give the luge a try. But until then, I'm just gonna stay right here where both my feet are safe, flat on the ground. These are just two featured rides here in Sentosa.

They let me watch "the song of the sea" alone cause they thought it was borin but I didn 't mind. It was a musical combined with a orchestrated display of laser light, water and pyrotechnic show. They were wrong. It was awesome! I can barely keep my mouth closed. I was like "wow" the whole time. Though the show only lasted for about 30 to 40 minutes, for me it was well worth the $10.

Our night ended with a quick stop to the Merlion Park. It was huge! Galantly waiting for every one who's arriving and leaving the island to see. It was late so all the shops around it was already out for the night. All the life was now diverted on the shores and on the other attractions around the island, so we just did what ever it is that we do best. Strike a pose.

Instead of taking the bus back to the city, we discovered that we could take the train. So we did. Back to Vivo city we went. In short, we went to the beach but wasn't able to swim. Nevertheless it was all worth the trip. I can't wait for the next time. I;m sure by that time comes there'll be a lot more attractions since Universal Studios is about to open within the year. Yebah!

Familia in Sg

Being on vacation is one thing, Being on vacation with your family is another. Putting it in words my uncle used to say. "ku kagugulo!" I can still remember how we used to do this every so often back then. It just felt so right when I experienced it again though were not complete there's also a new addition to our growing clan. We didn't let it bring down the best of our trip. Woohooh! Let's do this again!

Bukit Panjang, Sg

This has been our pitstop every night. Blk 203 in the small community of Bukit Panjang. A home to me for more than a week now and I'm still fascinated with this place and how well things work out with the people on this neighborhood. Located in the outskirts of the city but only a bus ride away. Giving you the feel of nature and at the same time the comfort of city living. All I can say is WOW!
I can't help but wonder if this is where the government got their ideas for housing development projects back home? I could see several similarities though it's obvious that they undoubtably couldn't replicate this one. Failing miserably each time they try.

Just like a coin there's always two sides to every story. This small quiet community has been haunted by two separate incidents that has placed it in the news the first week I got here. It started out as a rumor that a decapitated body of a girl has been found in the park just across our building. Which was confirmed later on in the news.
The second one was about a hit and run incident that happened a night after I got here. I still can see the appeal for witnesses sign on the way to the community market.

This incidents also validates a sign that I saw in one of their bus stops. It read "less crime doesn't mean no crime. "
