Boo for Globe Duo!

Photo from Google Image Bank

I was very disappointed with this service. I guess that proves that Media Adeverstisement is not everything. I can't be at the office today so I thought might as well take advantage of this service so that I could still do my work. Eager to try it out I registered only to find out that I won't be able to use it after all since according to 2 CSR's, they're currently doing some enhancements. This means that I won't be able to call pldt landlines. WTF! Am I really that unlucky?

One more thing is that during the 1st call with a CSR named Hazel, she kept on asking st*pid questions like are you calling a PLDT landline number MR. Coronel? What?! How the hell should I know? As far as I'm concerned as long as the area code is 02 it doesn't really matter right? Since according to them once registered you can call from your cellphone to any landline (PLDT, Duo, Bayantel, Etc.). The best recommendation was to monitor it for 24 hours. So instead of convenience I now have another resposiblity to babysit and monitor their enhancement. That's what my 25 peso bought. though she (Hazel) assured me that if I won't be able to use it I will be credited 25 pesos. So I asked a very sensible question. "What if the service resumes at around 12 midnight?" (I registered around 9:30AM) Again she reassures me that the 25 pesos will still be credited back. Which I highly doubt.

The solution I have in mind now is to just cancel the entire service and have them credit back the 25 pesos. You might think that I'm a stiff but I really am. Hehehe. Value for money right? So I called again. This time I was able to talk to Miles, who again reiterated to me the entire enhancement churva. I really am no longer interested in continuing the service. We ended on a good note though.

It's just so frustrating that these types of services sometimes are very unreliable. No matter what you see on television.

UPDATE:

This is what I like about Globe, when they say that they'll credit you back a certain amount they do it.

I was waiting for the confirmation that miles was talking about when she said she'll just cancel the service. I almost lost hope but then I received the charge back. Though I never received the notification, it was good enough. A friend of mine commented that this has been a problem that was going on for this service for the past 2 weeks. According to her sources (forum boards), PLDT was blocking calls from Duo since many of their prepaid subscribers are now switching. Then if these are true I may be wrong about the whole thing after all.

Happy Anniversary...

We started out counting the days, then the days turned to weeks, then months, and who'd believe that we're already on our third year. I guess what I'm trying to say is that while most people are still struggling to be in one, we've managed to last this long in our relationship. Though Most of the days we've had it rough, like all the bad things'll never end. But look at where we're at right now.
Happy 3rd Anniversary Lynzie. Though these words and pictures could never really describe what I'm feeling right now I just want to say I love you...

Friendships

From left to right: Lynzie, Bogs and Abes
They say that life in the call center setting is very dynamic. You could easily meet friends and at the same way lose them along the way. But if you try to hold on to that friendship hard enough. No matter where life takes you. You'll still have those friends to call at the end of the day. I guess this is one proof of that.

Tiring But Great

View of Makati from the roof deck of BSA Mansion on a windy Friday night.
Two great things happened to me this very tiring day. First I got to see Mackoy who for the longest time has eluded me. Though the time wasn't really enough, it was all good. Secondly, I got to meet people who I'll work with for the next couple of years. People of Blue Horizon. I got to experience team bonding of another sort. Thanks to Ms A and Richard who facilitated the entire event. Btw, Richard was really funny! The Life of the entire gig. Winner!

Just Another Day Commuting...

You might wonder what this scene is all about. Well, its one taken from within an air-conditioned bus while I was on my way home from work at the coastal road toll gate. It's funny how riding the bus everyday gives you the idea that there's a whole culture in it like riding the jeepney. As you can see from my previous post I've already shared a couple.

Last night was a new one for me. I have this very bad habit of not going along with the wave. I'd rather sit it out until everybody's already gone even if it meant going home late. I just can't stand standing. Knowing that you'll probably be standing the entire stretch of the coastal road. No way. Traffic in this area doesn't spare even those who travel late.
The bus that I was in( half full and all) upon reaching coastal mall took a right turn to Macapagal Blvd. We stayed there for quite a while. Until a fellow passenger shouted. "Pang-apat na green light na yan. Mahiya naman kayo!" Which was true. Passengers were all aggitated and exhausted and just can't wait to get home. The"konduktor" was still outside barking for more passengers.

You might think that this only happens at night cause buses are already on their last trips and can do this since the rush is already over around 8pm. Well, think again.

I had this very same experience but it happened in the morning. I still can remember, I was on my way to Makati and I took the shortest route ( Alabang - Makati via SLEX - Skyway). Upon jumping off the Jeep infront of Starmall I immediately got on the first bus I saw. Even if it was an ordinary one. I figured hey the sun isn't up yet and it's via skyway anyways so might as well enjoy the morning breeze. Upon choosing the most comfortable seat. I noticed that the "konduktor" immediately got in and asked for my fare along with a couple of other new passengers. Afterwards he jumped off again and again started barking. Hmm. Normally the "Konductor will only collect fare once the bus is already in motion. I thought I just made a big mistake, and I was right. I could already see the sun shining from the horizon but still we've only moved inches from the original position. A great modus by the bus operator. Once you've already paid your fare you're stuck with them. Some passengers were able to get off. Lucky for them. But the rest of us were there for like atleast 30 to 40 mins. Off course there was a commotion to the point that the passengers who already paid are discouraging new ones to get on the bus saying. "Di pa aalis to!" "Kanina pa kami dito!" It was a funny scene really, but I admit that even I got a little irritated.

My Princess

"I remember the day you were born. I remember those so vividly. I just can't believe that it's only a matter of time now before you ask my permission to go on your first date. No matter how I dread that day, I know it will eventually come. You are my Princess and that's how it'll forever be. "

The Beacon

Visited an old friend yesterday to talk some business but being there with him just brought some old memories. Memories from like ten years ago. Though it was vague, its not forgotten. It was all good.
Photos above are taken randomly from different model units.

They have this really cool show room at Sunvar Plaza at the corner of Arnaiz and Amorsolo in Makati. For those of you who're not familiar its in front of Don Bosco church beside Makati Cinema Square and just below the Skyway on ramp. So if you like what you see and planning to maybe make the next big step, pay them a visit. I'm pretty sure they'll make it worth your while. Look for Mr. Christian Villamor.
