Lipa Was Great

El Casa Leslie
@ Sampaguita Homes

The Hosts
(Lala, Myka and Martin)

The Couple
(Lala and Kiko)

My Goddaughter Maxine...
At long Last our plan of visiting the Leslies at Lipa was finally accomplished. We went there to talk about business but ended enjoying the places, the food and the people as well. At last I finally met my Goddaughter Max... She was so adorable though she was a little preoccupied with the Television when we first got there. It was really hard to compete with Nick Jr. especially if you dont have the right tool for the job (pangsuhol). hehehe but promised myself to make up the next time we visit.

The couple took us to places we have never been before. This was not my first time to reach Lipa but It was actually surprising that along the twist and turns there are a lot of good places to go to there. Take for example the Lipa City Community Park. It was a park, a sports complex (because of the Olympic sized pool, a tennis court and a basketball court and a joggers pat) all in one. Pretty sight! The funny thing was the way Lala actually presented the place. It was like she was a Realtor up selling the perks of its amenities. I would have bought one unit right there and the nif she was, cause she was really convincing no matter how she kept telling us that sales isn't actually for her. Yeah right, mother Lala ( I know you have it in you ).

A starbucks chain just openned but they took us to another place called Cafe de Lipa. There we did a lot of talkin and got on with the business part of our visit. Coffee was really good and surprisingly it's actually not that heafty on the pocket.

Our next stop was The Carmelite church. Lipa was filled with churches. Theres a redemptorist, The basilica and a lot more. You could actually complete a Visita Iglesia without even leaving Lipa according to Lala. Afterwards, Dinner at a Place called Banay Banay. Where it gives a whole new meaning to Fast Food.

The following morning started late. I heven't sleep that well in a very long time. Slept like a baby, I mean literally slept like a baby. No disturbing muffler sound only crickets. Never felt closer to nature. Breakfast was heavy at Beegees Lomi haus. It was my first time to try Lomi. Ever... And boy It took me a while to finish one serving. I was already Full upon reaching the halfway mark. I almost passed out. hehehehe.

It was a sad thought that we have to leave so soon. But I'm pretty sure there'll be a next time. Never really appreciated the beauty of Lipa, Batangas until today.

Ondoy Leaves His Mark

Here's a very Interesting Photo shared by my Model-Friend who owns a Condo in Makati, in his Facebook account. I didn't realize how serious this all was till I saw this. Not only this one but the hundreds of disturbing amateur photos posted there. There's even one showing the underpass in Makati filled with flood water.
Actress, Cristine Reyes plead for help as flood waters rise to critical levels in their home at Provident Village forcing her and her family up onto their roof.

I first heard of this news watching Startalk being hosted by Butch Francisco. At First, It thought it was funny but when the evening news came and they're still up at their roof, I couldn't help but ask why?

Where's the rescue? Given that the Philippines isn't really prepared for scenarios like this one but hey, we're in the Metro. This is where all the governments resources are centered/located. Last I heard, the government provides a huge contingency fund but how about a contingency plan?

A Lost Art

I just wanna share this image, I captured this, one day riding the bus home. Nope It's not a ghost image and there's nothing malicious with it either. It is of a woman in her mid 30's just a row infront of my seat knitting. Haven't seen this one in a long time.

While most of us prefer to sleep the traffic out with our ipods at full blast this lady preffered to knit. I dunno I guess its no big deal but amongst the passengeers she was really the odd one out. Hey, I've seen a lot from punk rocks playing their guitars to nerdy teens playing with their cubes even drunks who prefer to tell the story of their sex lives on the bus. But this is definitely the first for me.
